HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- TxDOT announced that the North Freeway at Crosstimbers Street will temporarily close in both directions starting on Friday evening due to bridge repairs.
According to TxDOT, the closure will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, with the lanes scheduled to reopen at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The closures will alternate between directions, TxDOT officials said.
TxDOT said that from 9 p.m. on Friday to 11 a.m. on Saturday, three southbound left lanes will be closed while one right lane will remain open to traffic, with the entrance ramp from Airline Road scheduled to close. The reopening of the southbound lanes could occur earlier, TxDOT said, depending on how safely crews can complete the repairs.
TxDOT said once crews complete repairs on the southbound lanes, they will switch to the northbound bridge structure and close three left northbound lanes, leaving one right lane open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
These closures on I-45 at Crosstimbers Street are expected to directly impact traffic between Tidwell Road and the North Loop.
